Professional Qualification

Jaya graduated with LL.B (Hons.) from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 1996. He was admitted to the Malaysian Bar as Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in April 1997. Jaya also obtained post-graduate Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2005.

Practice Profile

Jaya is an active trial and appellate litigator since 1997. He has conducted trial and appeals before all levels of courts in Malaysia. 

Jaya has handled claims and  disputes such as contract/commercial claims, negligence claims, professional liability claims, medical negligence claims, employment disputes at the Industrial Court and Labour Court, house buyer’s claim, road accident claim, industrial and workplace accident claim, professional negligence claims, construction disputes, judicial review proceedings, claims against financial institutions, claims under insurance policies, land disputes, probate claims and disputes over validity of will. Cases handled by Jaya over the years are also reported in the law reports.

Jaya has served as Chairman of the Johore Bar. He is a member of the Bar Council and serving as Treasurer of Malaysian Bar. He has also chaired several committees of the Bar Council. He actively speaks in seminars and trainings for members of the Bar on issues of law and on matters of interest to the legal profession in the country.
