Messrs R. Jayabalan is a firm of Advocates & Solicitors in Johor Bahru, Johor, established in September 2013. Our principal, R. Jayabalan, has been in practice since 1997.

Our practice is primarily in litigation and dispute resolution. Although we are based in Johor Bahru, our lawyers undertake legal work before the courts across West Malaysia and at all levels of the courts in the country. We also appear before alternative dispute resolution centres for arbitration, mediation, and related statutory dispute processes.

The firm is led by R. Jayabalan, an experienced practitioner and active litigator since 1997 who has also served as Chairman of the Johore Bar and as a member of the Bar Council of Malaysia.

Medical negligence

Where hospital or clinical negligence has caused serious harm, we advise on liability, evidence, and quantum, and we represent clients through negotiation, mediation, and court proceedings. Medical negligence work demands careful factual investigation and clear expert input; we structure each case around the client’s specific facts rather than a one-size template. Our medico-legal litigation covers trial and appellate work across West Malaysia, including matters involving misdiagnosis, surgical error, delayed treatment, birth injury, and failures in the duty of care.
